I think for 2008 it's high time to go to Southern California - there's a very active group there (SCOUG) and I know they submitted a bid for 2006 that looked very attractive (I saw it presented at a SCOUG meeting).
They have run events before (WarpExpoWest, and maybe an earlier Warpstock?), so I'm sure it would be a success. And as side events there can be trips to Fry's...
Cheers,
Howard
If someone will submit one we would love to entertain it. Unfortunately, the SC bid for 2006 never got to us. There was a submission of an intent to bid for 2005 but a final bid was never received.
Southern California sounds great. It would be interesting to contact SCOUG and ask if they will bid again.
Does any one know how to get into contact with SCOUG? Would becoming a member make sense just to contact them? I found the e-mail list from the site. I will try one of the e-mail addresses there.
(sort of asked and answered my question. )
They have a contact page here:

I used the page to get two e-mail addresses to ask about them sponsoring a Warpstock event in 2008.
"We talked about Warpstock 2007 and the possibility of 2008 on the West coast.
Stay tuned...

I joined the SCOUG mailing list and received the above reply about considering hosting Warpstock 2008.
