We would very much like to make this Warpstock helpful and rewarding for you as an eCS-OS/2 user and provide you and your family with ample recreational activities.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT AND HELP
Below are some of the topics we are considering. Please take a look and let us know if any of these interest you or if you have any other topics in mind. Also, we need presenters, so if you would like to volunteer to present one of these or any other topic please let us know.
C++ WORKSHOP
In order to get more people programming, we will provide an overview of which compilers are best for which missions and demonstrate the installation and setup of those programs and environments that interest the class.
NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING WORKSHOP
In this workshop, we will familiarize you with the tools available for network troubleshooting and demonstrate how to use them.
DOCUMENTATION ROUNDTABLE
We propose a roundtable discussion of where deficiencies exist in software documentation and of possible ways to correct them.
INSTALLING GIMP WORKSHOP
We will demonstrate the installation and setup of the required GIMP components.
OPENJDK INSTALLATION WORKSHOP
We will demonstrate the installation of OpenJDK and how to use it.
INSTALLING A SCSI SCANNER WITH SOFTWARE SUPPORT
Installing SCSI scanner, Tame, Sane, or whatever.
CUPS, NETDRIVE AND SAMBA
Overview, installation and troubleshooting of Cups, NetDrive and Samba.
WARPSTOCK SCHEDULE
Arrival is planned for the afternoon of Thursday, August 16, with the opening session on Friday, August 17 at 8:00 am. Friday will be tailored to provide the maximum help for individuals or small groups who are experiencing problems with their systems. There will be a Welcome Dinner Friday night.
The sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning will consist of more formal presentations and end with lunch on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
